After two years of infertility treatments, I finally became pregnant with twins. I was due to have sonograms every month after the 16th week, so it was after the first sonogram, the technician picked up on Caroline's arm. After many sonograms, we were prepared for twins and Caroline's "little arm." (RBE) It made things much easier being prepared. She was fitted with a passive prosthesis at 8 months. She now wears a myoelectric, which she was fitted with at 12 months. We live in Kentucky, but go to Duke University for her prosthesis. It is a fairly new device which is controlled by a computer chip. (very high-tech) She wears her "helper arm" several hours each day. She receives O.T. twice weekly at her "big school." She does well with or without her prosthesis. We are very proud of her. Caroline is a special joy in our lives - (and the apple of her grandparents eye as well!) We wouldn't trade her for the World!
